Nicola Brandt has been head of the OECD Berlin Centre since October 2019. She holds a doctorate in economics and has spent many years advising governments on the design of their economic and financial policies. Among other things, she was responsible for the OECD economic reports for Mexico, Chile, France and Poland. The focus of this work was tax and social policy, education as well as labour market, innovation and environmental policy. From 2005 to 2009, she worked at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin on the preparation of G7 and G20 finance ministers’ meetings. She began her career as a young professional at the OECD.
