Since 2016, Roland Sillmann has served as the Managing Director of WISTA Management GmbH, the operating company of Germany’s leading science and technology park in Berlin-Adlershof, as well as other economic sites. Roland Sillmann was born on January 15, 1971, in Freiburg (Breisgau). After studying mechanical engineering in Offenburg, he earned a Master of Business Engineering in Berlin, with study trips to the USA and Japan. His career began in 1996 at the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hameln/Emmerthal. Starting in 2002, he spent five years as the technical director of the solar division at Schüco International KG. In 2007, Sillmann co-founded Inventux Solar Technologies GmbH in Berlin, then Germany’s largest independent startup, where he was part of the management team for six years. Among other recognitions, he was a finalist for the “German Founders’ Award” and “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2011.
