At #PCF25, you can look forward to a very special preview of the first European documentary film about menopause. The panel discussion “Menopause – Shaping the change together” will spark a debate that highlights how urgently change is needed in this area. In Germany, more than nine million women are currently going through menopause – a figure that shows how much this issue affects our society. Menopause and cycle awareness are often overlooked in today’s corporate context, even though they are a crucial part of mental health in the workplace.
With Film & Panel, Tina Holmes and Sandra Baron (both “TabooTalker”) join forces with Constanze Baier (unverschämt.WEIBLICH) to break the taboo and make their demands heard: “Make menopause visible – in business. Now.” They are opening up the space for cycle, menopause, and female health. For companies with a future. For a culture that no longer ignores women. Every second woman is in the midst of change.
“Am I Losing My Mind (AT)” by Louise Unmack takes us on a journey to decipher the complex anatomy of menopause. The director, who herself suffers from severe symptoms, sets out in search of scientific answers as to how menopause can bring strong women to their knees. She asks: How does the drastic decline in estrogen affect women’s brains and bodies? And what consequences does this have for women – including in their professional lives?
In addition to the film, you can also look forward to an exciting discussion in the “Mental Health & Well-being” theme track.
